Welcome to FLAX art & design. The Flax family has enjoyed serving the creative community in the Bay Area through our San Francisco retail store since 1938. Over the years, we've become well known for carrying an incredible breadth of product (over 40,000 items), providing you with a courteous and knowledgeable staff, and our ability to inspire creativity through the thoughtful presentation of merchandise. We are a fun place to shop, and as one customer said, we are a "candy store for the creative." ...creative, personal, thoughtful, exclusive. All of these terms reflect a bit on what people are looking for in regard to gifts this holiday season. All aptly describe what FLAX has to offer. This year many people are looking for ways to uplift the hearts and spirits of others and to give in a meaningful way. As always, we have lots of fun, creative and unique gift items in stock, but some of our core products -- like art materials -- make great gifts as well.
